Future of regulatory settlements consultation

The Community Care Gaming Team have today submitted a response to the Gambling Commission's consultation on amending section 2.39 in the Statement of Principles for Determining Financial Penalties in relation to the destination of future regulatory settlements.

We strongly disagree with the proposal to direct settlements to the consolidated fund. While this may seem to be the most straight forward and potentially easiest solution, we believe there is an alternative destination for regulatory settlements and one that enables grass-root, start-up organisations, often led by people with experience of gambling-harm, as a personal development opportunity and pathway for their organisation to be in a strong position to apply for formal levy funding.
